Poems, Poems and More Poems

To New York … From A New Yorker.

You may not have the strength to fly

Far from such horrid things.

And your spirit with no safe place to hide

Cries out from beneath the sting.

And while the sun still kisses

Each mountain top,

At the dawn of each new day,

You pray that for just this once

Her light would fade away.

Who needs light when inside you feel so dark?

Who wants to have light poured on the sadness crippling your heart?

…that has crushed your breath,

…the has planted tears in your eyes,

…that causes your limbs to burn,

…when memories run loose in your mind?

You may not have the strength to fly

But hold on, for from within you’ll soon discover,

That indeed you possess the strength

To get back up after you’ve stumbled.

And you may not have the strength to fly

But hold on for soon you will discover

The strength to climb all the miles,

That your heart has been buried under.
